Abstract
The concept of the emergence of a knowledge integrator node in project teams orinternal and external networks of a firm is explored. Aspects of the literature on theknowledge creation process and key actors and their roles and knowledge managementin boundary-spanning networks development in multinational companies are presented.A grain trading and exporting case study illustrates the concept of knowledge integratornodes and organisational learning. The concept of knowledge integrator nodes is againexplored in Singapore-based multinational telecommunications companies andexpanded to include an investigation into knowledge management roles in internalproject teams. Further recommendations for research are included as well as howknowledge integrator nodes (KINs) may have application in 'knowledge-based'industries.
