A description is made of some customer relations in the corrugated board industry on thehighly integrated Swedish market. The focal producer is Munksjö, owned by Smurfit to 34%.Six customer relations are described as short case studies with the customers? purchasingstrategies and their purchasing organisations in focus. The customers are well-knowncompanies in different sectors of activities. How do the customers treat the supplier? Arestrategic alliances or tenders most utilised among these customers for buying corrugatedboard? How will the purchasing function be organised in the future on a European basis?Questions like these are discussed for the sample of case studies.
