    Post-doctoral position in Innovation

    There is an available post-doctoral position within the area of innovation at the Department of Innovation and Economic Organization, BI Norwegian Business School. The position is a two year position, with start-up as soon as possible.

    Relevant candidates will have background from business subjects or social science disciplines, and solid experience with qualitative methods.

    The position is a part of the project “Conditions for interaction and innovation (BESI): Organization of boundaries, knowledge and learning in regional and industrial networks in the Østfold region”. The project is run in collaboration between BI, Østfoldforskning, and Østfold University College.

    The BESI project aim for improving the understanding of innovation processes in networks that involve businesses, public organizations, R&D actors, and users. The project will focus on three empirical areas: Healthcare and care technologies, energy efficient rehabilitation of buildings (construction), and green energy solutions in ‘smart cities’ (smart energy grids).

    The postdoctoral fellow will together with the project leader have a particular responsibility for doing and coordinating the data gathering in the project. This includes both own field work, and coordination of the research partners in the project. The candidate will work at BI in Oslo, while field work, meetings and seminars will take place in Østfold.

    We are seeking a proactive person to contribute to good methodological strategies and dialog between the research partners in the project. Through participation in the project, the candidate will have ample opportunities for collaborating with recognized researchers (nationally and internationally).

    The applicant must hold a doctoral degree and it is expected that the applicant has published in relevant journals. A project proposal must be submitted and the holder of the position is expected to complete the qualification project.

    Salary is determined based on the Norwegian State Salary Scale and the position offers membership of the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

    BI will place emphasis on whether applicants have cooperated with the business sector and/or the public sector, including R&D work, research dissemination and research-based advisory services. Weight will be attached to international work experience in the field of economics and business administration.

    The project proposal will be evaluated by the Department Council. Applicants may be called for an interview, trial lecture, or seminar presentation. The position will only be filled if qualified candidates are identified.
