IMP GROUP NEWS
IMP Asia 2020 in Okinawa, Japan, 6-9th December 2020
For and on behalf of Nihon University, Japan, and the Adelaide Business School of the University of Adelaide, Australia, we want to remind you that abstract submissions are due on March, 31st, 2020 by email to Associate Professor Woonho KIM (kimu.unho@nihon-u.ac.jp). Details on the format for your abstract are available from the conference website.
Places at the conference are limited so as to maintain the inclusive, collegiate and informal nature of IMP Asia; which is known for good critical discussions that develop new research ideas.
Regarding the COVID-19, our intention is that the conference is ON. We are not cancelling. Much will happen between now and December, so if you are planning to come you will need to get your abstract in on time.
The people of the Japanese culture are caring and very careful in managing influenza. The people are diligent and respectful and they individually take precautions for other people, beyond what is normal in the West. The Japanese Government has put in place local and country-wide plans to ensure the Olympic Games proceeds. The Japanese hospital system, if one needs to visit, is one of the best in the world. The conference hotel, the Sheraton Sunmarina Resort, will have in place personal hygiene systems and you will have direct access to medical and hospital care if needed.
We are delighted to announce that the Conference Plenary Speaker will be Professor Aino Halinen-Kaila of the Turku School of Economics, Finland. Aino knows well the business marketing and management literature and she will present a good critique of the IMP approach and directions forward. Thus Aino, will set up a great base for discussions during the conference.
As conference organizers we are presently arranging a number of different journal outlets towards which conference papers may be targeted. More about these journal outlets shortly. Conference sessions will reflect the topics of journal call for papers, but will not be limited by that format.
Please take note of the following critical dates:
Submission of abstracts: March 31, 2020
Submission of papers: June 1, 2020
Authors notified: July 31, 2020
Registration: September 30, 2020

Looking forward to seeing you in idyllic Okinawa.
