In this paper, two relevant bodies of literature are examined and compared, namelythe ?interaction and networks? literature (associated primarily with the IMP Group)and ?Chinese Management? literature. Elements examined include relationships,networks, trust, culture and forms of exchange. The contention of the paper is thatboth bodies of literature have something to contribute in terms of a theoretical basisfor an empirical study of Chinese/Western joint ventures.
